Selkirk Pocket Park: Legacy Park

This Selkirk Mural and Public Art Project in downtown Selkirk will employ artists, educate, enhance arts and culture, draw awareness to Indigenous and women’s issues and build community. These projects all come with a mentoring aspect and community involvement, by invoking a large volunteer group, supporting local artists and providing visual sustainable elements.

The Interlake Arts Board will employ 19 professional and emerging artists in a mentorship program. These municipal beautification projects will increase awareness of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG), endangered species, community spirit, art and artists, all of which will lead to a healthier, more sustainable quality of life.
